Special Considerations when Installing UXBM’s
UXBM Monitoring Less Than Five Cells or Monoblocs
In some instances it may be desirable or required to only use fewer than the available inputs on a
UXBM. Typical reasons for this will arise when the total number of cells do not evenly divide by five. For
example, if the string uses 241cells this would require 49 UXBM’s with the last UXBM only monitoring
one cell. If this or a similar case arises, the last UXBM can be connected to monitor only one cell. No
special software or hardware configuration is required because the UXBM will automatically identify this
when powered up. However, special considerations need to be observed when connecting the power
leads and removal of the unused leads should be done. In this case, the left over leads can be cut off at
the connector.
