DIPS INSERTION PATTERN
The tone insertion feature can be activated or deactivated independently for outputs
1 and 2 and outputs 3 and 4 such that the DAR3000C01 can be used to generate two
reference outputs with silence and two more outputs with whichever tones are
required. Insertion of dips is only possible via the communications controller. The
DAR3000C01 comes from the factory with dips insertion deactivated.
Another useful feature derived from the two tones and the dips is identification of the
four audio channels inserted into a video group.
4.2.3. The status channel
The DAR3000C01 is an audio reference signal generator that creates its own status
channel. Only the operating frequency is extracted from the the AES/EBU reference
input and no other bits from the reference signal are used.
The status channel bits are all user-configurable and are stored in the module's
non-volatile memory. To access these bits, a communications controller must be
installed in the same mounting frame as the DAR3000C01.
The status channel programmed at the factory sets the first bit to one to indicate that
it is a professional grade audio signal. The following 183 bits are set to zero and the
last eight bits, forming the CRC, and calculated based upon the previous bits.
