2. Which Operating Mode to Use With
Different Types of Control Panels
The 7845C has four different modes of operation, which can be selected
using the tamper switch during start-up. Which mode you use depends
on what type of control panel you will connect to the radio.
Table 1 indicates which modes to use with various panels.
Table 1. Operating Modes for Use with Control Panels
• ECP Mode (VISTA with E2 only) - Contact ID communication
• Programmable Relay Emulation Mode - Relay commands are
sent via data connection (ECP) from the host (VISTA)panel to
the 7845C (does not require 4204 module)
• 4229 Mode - Allows the use of a 4229 zone expander as a
seven zone input board
• Zone Mode - Single Zone Input (Pulsed Input = Zone 1, Steady
Input = Zone 2).
