FAULT GUIDE

SYMPTOM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

REMEDY

No power to appliance

Check the unit is plugged into a 
mains supply and is turned on. 

Dead. No display.

Power button not pushed in 

Press “POWER” button in. 

No Sound. Display dim. Led lit 

Unit in standby.

Press “Standby” or “Skip” buttons 
on main unit or Standby button on
Remote Control to operate unit.

Tuner not playing (FM) 

No stations selected or tuned.

Press SKIP +/SKIP- buttons to tune
an FM station. 

Poor noisy signal (FM) 

Poor or no signal.

Un loop FM wire aerial and spread
out

Tuner not playing (AM) 

No stations selected or tuned.

Press “STOP / BAND” button to 
select AM and Press SKIP +/SKIP-
buttons to tune an AM station. 

Poor noisy signal (AM) 

Poor or no signal.

Plug AM loop aerial into socket at 
the rear and rotate for best signal 

Incorrect placement of disc 

Ensure disc is placed label side up 

Disc damaged or dirty

See page 13 regarding disc care. 

Not Playing CD’s or MP3 discs 

Laser lens may be dirty

Carefully clean laser optic with a 
cotton bud. 

Disc in CD player.

Remove disc from CD player

USB Player may need turning on

Turn USB player on.

Not selecting USB player.

SD card plugged in 

Remove SD card

Disc in CD player

Remove disc from CD player

Not selecting SD Mode 

USB player plugged in 

Remove USB player

Not playing SD or USB files 

Incorrect file structure.

Player will not accept WMA files, 
convert to MP3 files structure 

No Remote Control functions 

Batteries may be worn or exhausted

Replace batteries each 6 months
