Recording File Type
MOV -
An H.264 file with a .mov QuickTime wrapper (factory default).
MP4 -
An H.264 file with an .mp4 (MPEG-4) wrapper.
Formatting Media
WARNING:
Formatting media erases all the data on that media. Always be sure that
any media you format containing important information has been properly
backed up prior to formatting.
Formatting with HELO Plus
Inserted USB and SD media can be formatted as exFAT by HELO Plus. This is the
recommended method for formatting media.
Format USB Media
Allows formating the inserted USB media as exFAT. Choose from:
• Keep Media - No formatting occurs, data on that media is retained (factory
default).
• Format - Will immediately format the inserted media as exFAT.
Format SD Media
Allows formating the inserted SD media as exFAT. Choose from:
• Keep Media - No formatting occurs, data on that media is retained (factory
default).
• Format - Will immediately format the inserted media as exFAT.
Formatting with a Computer
It is also possible to format USB and SD media using an external computer, but
this practice is strongly discouraged. Whenever possible, format your media using
a HELO Plus.
IMPORTANT: If you format media using a computer, ensure the media is formatted as a
single exFAT partition that uses the entire capacity of the storage device. Using
multiple partition media with HELO Plus can cause unintended consequences.
