Fan Operation Highlights
When first turned on the pitch is at 0º. Then after a slow start, as the fan comes
up to speed, the pitch adjusts to whatever the pitch dial is set at (usually the last
pitch setting). This helps reduce torque loads on startup. The user has Multi-
Mode Control capability –

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS AND FUNCTIONS
04
In
Manual Mode
the speed and pitch are adjustable while the fan is operat-
ing, allowing the user to ‘dial in’ the optimal air velocity, direction, and speed
for the given facility conditions and air movement objectives. We call this
Adjustable Air Movement. (Please note, as the fan reaches approximately
¾’s maximum speed, the maximum pitch is limited to avoid overloading the
unit.)
In addition, the fan can be operated in
EcoMode
, where the fan adjusts the
pitch to what we have determined to be the most efficient angle for a given
speed.
We have a
De-Strat Mode
where the fans automatically turn on, and then off,
at specified temperature deltas between the fan at the ceiling and the wall
box control unit.
In
AutoMode
the fan comes on and off based on temperature differences,
and runs at various speeds depending on how large the temperature
difference is.
AirMotion HVLS Fans may also be connected to external inputs such as
thermostats and timers in
External Mode
.
For safety, our fans stop slowly upon shut down, include a timed delay to
prevent start-up while the blades are spinning if the power is interrupted,
include motor overloads, and have a field disconnect capability.
Our fans can also tie into fire safety suppression controls.
