ASSEMBLY
Note:
Make sure to remove the braided hose from the Cooler that inhibits installation of the right
side panel and replace with the braided hose provided in the kit.
1. Install supplied braided hose.
Use the rubber cushion cable clamp and 1/4-20 x 3/4 hex head
thread forming bolt to mount the hose on the front mounting rail. Make sure to route the braided
hose under the Cooler mounting bracket.
2. Install Rear Tray onto unit.
a. Set aside four 1/4-20 x 3/4 hex head thread forming bolts. Guide the assembly from the back,
forward onto the mounting rail.
b. Align the holes at the base of the Rear Tray to the holes in the mounting rail. See Fig. 1. Install and
tighten bolts.
3. Install Left Side Panel onto Rear Tray Assembly.
Note:
The serial number plate is on the left side panel of all units.
a. Set aside three #8 Phillps head screws and flat washers (use four screws for AS50).
b. Align screw clips in the side panel to the holes in the rear tray. See Fig. 1, Detail B. Tighten screws.
4. Install Right Side Panel Assembly.
a. Set aside three #8 Phillps head screws and flat washers (use four screws for AS50).
b. Align screw clips in the side panel to the holes in the rear tray. See Fig. 1, Detail B. Tighten screws.
c. For AirStar 21, 22, 30 and 40 route the fan cord under the plastic clips, and plug the receptacle
into the connector on the thermostat housing. See Fig. 1.
5. Install Front Tray Assembly.
a. Set aside four #8 Phillps head screws and flat washers (use six screws for AS50).
b. From the front of the unit, slide the front tray under the side panels onto the top of the rear tray.
See Fig. 1.
c. Align holes in front tray to the screw clips in the side panels, and the holes in the rear tray to
the screw clips in the front tray. See Fig. 2, Detail B. Tighten screws.
6. Install Rear Panel Assembly.
a. Set aside four 1/4-20 x 3/4 slot bolts and internal tooth washers.
b. From the rear of the AirStar, place the back panel with the longer flange at the top facing the
side panels and align the holes on the back panel with the retaining nuts in the side panels.
See Fig. 1, Detail A. Tighten bolts.
c. For AirStar 50 route the fan cords under the plastics clips, and plug the receptacles into the
connectors on the thermostat housing. See Fig. 2.
7. Install Front Panel Assembly.
a. Set aside four 1/4-20 x 3/4 slot bolts and internal tooth washers.
b. From the front of the AirStar, place the front panel with the longer flange at the top facing the
side panels and align the holes on the back panel with the retaining nuts in the side panels.
See Fig. 1, Detail A. Tighten bolts.
8. Install Top Plate Assembly.
a. Set aside four #8 Phillps head screws and flat washers.
b. Place Top Plate on the top of the sound cover and be sure that the rounded edges cover the
front and rear flanges of the side panels. See Fig. 1. Tighten screws.
