Technical Specification

1.

The CO Alarm carries the BSI Kitemark to indicate type testing to BS EN 50291:2001.  It is CE marked to indicate conformance to BS EN 60065: 1994,

BS EN 50081-1: 1992 and BS EN 50270: 1992 Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility Directives.

2.

New generation electrochemical cell type Carbon Monoxide sensor checks CO concentration every 50 seconds. Each unit is calibrated and tested in CO
gas in order to ensure accuracy.

3.

High level of selectivity. No false alarms when exposed to the following interference gases for 2 hours: (as per UL2034sec.38) Methane 500ppm, Butane
300ppm, Heptane 500ppm.

4.

Battery powered; supplied with 3 long life alkaline AA batteries. Battery compartment is sealed to prevent unauthorised battery removal. The green LED
on the cover will flash and alarm will beep to indicate if the unit needs replacement.

5.

Tamperproof battery compartment - white locking rivets supplied.

6.

Supplied with integral mounting base and fixing screws: suitable for ceiling or wall mounting.

7.

Start up sequence - the green, red and amber LEDs will flash once, after 20 seconds the green LED will flash every 4 seconds for a further 45 seconds.
The red LED will then flash once to indicate that the alarm is in full operation. Rapid warm up time - only 70 seconds to full operation.

8.

Green LED power indicator light flashes once every 40 seconds to confirm integrity of battery power supply.

9.

Low and high level indicators - red LED indicator light flashes every 2 seconds at 50ppm CO (sounder operates within 60-90 mins); flashes twice every
second at 100ppm CO (sounder operates within 10-40 mins); flashes 4 times per second at 350ppm CO (sounder operates within 3 minutes)

10.   Fault indicator - amber LED flashes and horn beeps every 40 seconds if a fault is detected.

11.   Manual Test/Hush button -  press and hold the Test/Hush button to test circuitry and horn.  Pressing and releasing the Test/Hush button when the unit is

sensing CO will silence the alarm for 4 minutes.  It will only silence once until the gas clears.  At 300ppm CO the unit cannot be silenced due to the in-
creased danger.

12.     Quick CO gas test - allows quick and easy testing of the unit with CO gas.  Pressing the Test/Hush button causes the sensor to test for CO every 4 sec-
onds.  The unit

automatically resets after approximately 3 minutes.

13.   Memory feature - pressing the Test/Hush button records if CO has been detected during a period of absence: red LED off – no CO recorded; Red LED

flashes twice (every 40 seconds) – 50ppm CO recorded, red LED flashes 4 times (every 40 seconds) – 100ppm, red LED flashes 8 times (every 40 seconds) -
300ppm CO recorded. Pressing the Test/Hush button for 20 seconds resets the memory.

14.   Built in sounder to give a minimum output of 85dB(A) at 3 metres.  Modulated sound output - 3 rapid pulses followed by a 1½ second pause, repeated

until reset.  This easily differentiates it from a typical smoke alarm.

15.   Automatic reset of alarm test function and after an alarm state when CO gas clears.

16.   Operating temperature range: -5°C to +40°C (23°F - 104°F).  15% to 95% relative humidity.

17.   Dimensions: 135mm x 105mm x 42mm.  Weight: 260g.

18.   5 year guarantee (covers the alarm and batteries).
