4 Commissioning and Operation

Handle hot engine components with caution!
The silencer and other engine parts get very hot
when the engine is running and are still hot di-
rectly after the engine is switched off. Keep a
sufficient distance from hot surfaces and keep
children away from the running engine.
When the petrol engine is running, do
not touch or remove the ignition cable or
spark plug connector.
Starting the engine
Plug on the sparking-plug connector
1. Open the fuel cock (B/13)

Cold
engine: Set the choke actuator (B/5) to
"Choke". Reset the choke when the engine is
hot.
Engine
at operating temperature
: Leave
the choke at the normal operating position
3. Set engine stop switch (B/14) to operating
position (" I ")
4. Set speed regulating lever (A/5) to approxi-
mately 1/3 throttle
5. Start the engine from outside the hazard
zone:
Hold the starter rope at the starter handle
(B/7) and pull it out vigorously and rapidly
to start the engine. Guide the handle back af-
ter the engine has started. Do not allow it to
shoot back.
6. Once the engine is running, set the engine
speed to min and allow the engine to warm
up for a short time. Slowly move the choke
actuator back to operating position (if actuat-
ed).
