CHECKING CLUTCHING V-BELT TENSION
•
Disconnect spark plug wire.
•
Remove left side panel from Engine Mounting Plate.
•
Place the Mower Blade Clutch Lever in the
"ENGAGED" position.
•
Check spring tension by checking spring length.
(Refer to Fig. 11, page 20.)
• Spring tension is correct if spring length measures
from 2-5/8 inches to 2-7/8 inches.
• If spring length does not measure from 2-5/8 inches
to 2-7/8 inches, an adjustment will be required.
NOTE:
For every 1/8 inch of adjustment made to the
Cable you will change the spring length by 1/8 inch.

ADJUSTING CLUTCHING V-BELT TENSION
TO INCREASE CLUTCHING V-BELT TENSION:
•
Place Mower Blade Clutch Lever in the
"DISENGAGED" position.
•
Loosen the Outer Nut of the Clutch Cable. (See Fig.
12)
•
Tighten the Inner Nut to increase spring tension.
(See Fig. 12)
