"Road" and "Offroad" settings
This electric bicycle is described as "25 km-h / 250W Adjustable". In practice this means that it can be
used both for driving on public roads and in off-road conditions. When setting up an assistance mode to
ECO (1 ) City (2) or Tour (3) the rated motor power is limited up to 250W. When setting up an assistance
mode to POWER (4) and BOOST (5) the nominal motor output is limited to 300 or 350W respectively.
The use of electric bikes in the states of the European Union is regulated by the European Parliament
and Council Directive 2002/24/EC relating to the type-approval of two or three-wheel motor vehicles.
This Directive does not apply to the following vehicles. In the Chapter 1 , Article 1 .1 (h):
cycles with pedal assistance which are equipped with an auxiliary electric motor having a maximum
continuous rated power of 0,25 kW, of which the output is progressively reduced and finally cut off as
the vehicle reaches a speed of 25 km/h, or sooner, if the cyclist stops pedalling.
In the POSITION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT, adopted on 20 November 201 2, in the Article 2.2(g)
the Directive also excludes (does not apply) to “vehicles primarily intended for off-road use and
designed to travel on unpaved surfaces” from the type-approval procedure.
Whereas the setting to Assistance mode (4) and (5) is ONLY permitted OUTSIDE the network of public
road network (including bicycle paths). Failure to follow this recommendation, may lead to driver injury,
breach of the law in your country and, in case of accident, loss of the guarantee.
