Symptom possible problem Solution
Unit doesn’t respond AC adapter isn’t plugged into a wall outlet Plug the AC adapter into a wall
(no power) or the connector is not plugged into the outlet and plug the connector into
power supply jack on the back of the unit the supply jack on the unit
Wall outlet is not functioning Plug another device into the same outlet
to confirm the outlet is working
iPod/iPhone does not Using no or wrong iPod/iPhone dock adapter Make sure the dock adapter is
dock properly the proper fit for your iPod/iPhone
iPod/iPhone is not properly installed Remove your iPod/iPhone from the dock
and check for obstruction on the
connectors in the dock and on your iPod.
Then reseat it in the dock.
iPod/iPhone does not iPod/iPhone is not properly installed Remove your iPod/iPhone from the dock

the unit. Please refer to your iPod
manual for details.
Sound is distorted Volume level is set too high Decrease the volume
Sound source is distorted If the iPod original sound source (MP3)
is of poor quality, distortion and noise
are easily noticed with high-power
speakers. Try a different audio source
such as a music CD.
If you are using an external sound source
like older generation of iPod or
iPod Shuffle, try reducing the output
volume on the device itself.
Also try turning bass boost OFF.
Remote Control didn’t work Battery weak Replace current battery with new battery
Remote Control is not pointed Point the Remote Control toward the 10398/
toward to the 10398/10400 10400, move within 10 feet of the unit.
Unit gets warm after This is normal Turn the unit off for a while or lower
lextended play at high volume the volume
