Using the magnifier
The magnifier is used to visually inspect the condition and cleanliness of the cone orifice. If the cone orifice is
deformed in any way (not circular) or enlarged, the cone should be replaced.

The tip of the removed sampler or skimmer cone is viewed, with
one eye, through the eyepiece (Figure 3).

Using the magnifier

A reticule is included providing a measuring scale to check the
size of the orifice (Figure 4).

If the image viewed through the magnifier is blurry, rotate the
focusing ring (Figure 5) to bring the scale markings on the reticule
into focus.

To be in focus, the magnifier must be very close to (almost touching) the tip of the cone.
CAUTION
Do not press the magnifier against the tip of the cone to avoid damaging the delicate cone tip.
