Overall Block Diagram
Figure 4-2 shows the overall block diagram of the 4338B .

The signal source section applies measurement signal to the range resistor and DUT in
series . The current sense amplier measures the voltage across the range resistor , which is
proportional to the current owing through the DUT . The voltage sense amplier measures the
voltage across the DUT . The process amplier switches these two voltages to be converted into
digital data. The CPU calculates DUT resistance , derived from impedance , from the vector ratio
of these two voltages , and displays the result on the LCD .
