GENERAL WARNINGS FOR R290 GAS
• This unit uses flammable R290 refrigerant.
• If the unit with R290 refrigerant is used improperly,
this may cause serious injury or damage.
• The minimum area for the installation, use, repair
and storage of this unit must be more than 12m².
• Do not add more coolant gas than necessary.
• Apart from the devices recommended by the
manufacturer to speed up the defrosting process or
for cleaning, do not use any others.
• Do not perforate or burn the unit. Make sure the
refrigerant pipe is not damaged.
• The unit must not be positioned near ignition
sources such as naked flames, electric heaters, etc.
• The refrigerant gas is odourless.
• The units must be stored in such a way as to avoid
any physical damage to the packages and the units.
• All repairs or extraordinary maintenance on the unit
must be carried out by specialised technicians or
qualified personnel.
• A gas leakage test must be carried out prior to
installation.
REFRIGERANT GAS LEAKAGE TEST
• Do not use halogen probes, or other probes or
detection devices that use naked flames, when
testing for possible refrigerant leakages.
• Use electronic measuring devices such as a leak
detector.
• Make sure the leak detector does not become a
possible ignition source.
• The leak detector must be calibrated to detect the
minimum refrigerant leakage (not more than 25%).
• The fluid used to detect gas leakages from the pipes
must not contain chloride solvents, as they may
produce a chemical reaction and corrode copper
pipes.
• If a refrigerant leakage is suspected, extinguish all
naked flames or at least move them away.
WARNINGS FOR MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR
These procedures must only be carried out by
specialised technicians or qualified personnel.
Please follow the steps below:
1. Switch off the unit and disconnect it from the
electricity supply.
2. Drain the refrigerant gas.
3. Extract the remaining gas.
4. Clean with nitrogen gas N2.
5. Ensure there are no naked flames.
6. Discharge the refrigerant by following the recognised
procedure. The gas must be disposed of in a suitable
torch with an anti-flame-return device.
WARNINGS FOR WELDING INTERVENTIONS
These procedures must only be carried out by
specialised technicians or qualified personnel.
If the refrigerant system pipes need to be cut or weld-
ed, follow the steps below:
• Switch off the unit and disconnect it from the
electricity supply.
• Discharge the refrigerant by following the
recognised procedure. The gas must be disposed of
in a suitable torch with an anti-flame-return device.
• Make sure there are no naked flames near the
suction pump outlet, and that it is well aired.
• Use (OFN) both prior to and during the welding
procedure, to clean the cooling circuit.
WARNING
This unit uses a flammable R290 re-
frigerant. In the event of refrigerant
leakages or exposure to external primer
sources, there is a risk of fire.
