Serial Number
The earplugs are color coded to indicate which ear they fit. The earplug with the
blue backplate fits the left ear and the earplug with the red backplate fits the
right ear.
Each earplug is also engraved with a five digit serial number for Aegisound
traceability. The five digit serial number should be used when reordering earplugs.
The Aegisound CTE30X Coiled Custom Tethered Earplugs offer state of the art
hearing protection for individuals working in extreme noise environments. Using
custom ear impressions of the user’s ears, we produce custom earplugs that offer
a blend between comfort and extreme noise attenuation.
Before Proceeding
The use of any hearing protective device will not guarantee adequate protection
for hearing loss for all persons under all circumstances. Consult your physician
frequently when being exposed to high noise levels. If exposure to high noise levels
occurs during employment activities, consult your employer regularly as well.
Example:
1. The environmental noise level as measured at the ear is 92 dB(A)
2. The NRR is 29 decibels (dB)
3. The level of noise entering the ear is approximately equal to 63 dB(A)
Always evaluate the adequacy of your protective gear before entering
hazardous environments.
The wearer should ensure that:
•
The earplugs are fitted and maintained in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions (improper fit of this device will reduce its
effectiveness in attenuating noise)
•
The earplugs have been inspected for serviceability
•
The earplugs are worn at all times in noisy surroundings
US Federal Law requires the following additional statements:
The level of noise entering a person’s ear, when hearing protector is worn as
directed, is closely approximated by the difference between the A-weighted
environmental noise level and the NRR.
Caution:
For noise environments dominated by frequencies below 500 Hz the C-weighted
environmental noise level should be used. Although hearing protectors can be
recommended for protection against the harmful effects of impulsive noise, the
Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is based on the attenuation of continuous noise and
may not be an accurate indicator of the protection attainable against impulsive
noise such as gunfire.
Features:
•
Consistent plug insertion provides high level of passive protection to
guard against hearing loss
•
A noise reduction rating (NRR) of 29 dB
•
New impressions are not required for replacement earplugs
•
Easy cleaning using a mild soap and water solution
•
Double hearing protection provided when separated and used with the
DC2 hearing protector (P/N 05-028001)
