SOM-5962 User Manual

Expansion Interface

PCIe x8 and x4

SOM-5962 supports 1 PCIe x8 and 1 PCIe x4 by default, up to 2 PCIe x8.(by
option if remove GbE) The PCIe x8 above is configurable to be PCIe x1, PCIe
x4 and PCIe x1.
Note: The PCIe lanes of SOM-5962 will be different by CPU SKU, because they
support different HSIO quantity from 20 to 6 lanes.

LPC

Support Low Pin Count (LPC) 1.1 specification with DMA and bus mastering
and allow to connect TPM. LPC clock is 24MHz.

Serial Bus 

SMBus

Support SMBus 2.0 specification with Alert pin. Host and Slave mode are both 
supported. Slave mode allows an internal or external MCU to access system 
resources. Speed up to 100Kbps. 

I2C Bus

Support I2C bus 7-bit and 10-bit addressing modes, at both 100KHz and
400KHz. 

I/O

Gigabit Ethernet

Support On-module Intel I210AT/I210IT controller; Speed: 10/100/1000 Mbps.

SATA

Support 2 ports SATA Gen3 (6.0 Gb/s), backward compliant to SATA Gen2 and
Gen1. Support 3 modes of operation:
a. Legacy and Native IDE are not supported in this generation.
b. AHCI mode: 1 controller is utilized enabling all 4 ports.
c. RAID mode: 1 controller is utilized enabling all 4 ports.

USB3.0/USB2.0

Up to 4 ports USB3.0 (5.0 Gbps) and 4 ports USB2.0 (480 Mbps) which are
backward compatible to USB1.x. For USB3.0, supports LPM (U0, U1, U2, and
U3) manageability to saving power.
