4.4 Installing the Central Processing Unit (CPU)

The panel PC is equipped with a central processing unit (CPU) that can be upgraded
to improve system performance. The panel PC provides one 775-pin ZIF (Zero Inser-
tion Force) socket, or “Socket 775”. The CPU must be fitted with an appropriate heat-
sink and CPU fan to prevent overheating.

Warning!

The CPU may be damaged if operated without a heat sink, and if the fan
is not connected to the CPU fan power connector.
