Chapter 3 Software Drivers and Utilities 21

Panning Drivers

Special panning drivers are provided to allow high-resolution modes
to be displayed on a flat panel or CRT. These drivers will show a
section of a larger screen and will automatically pan, or scroll, the
screen horizontally and vertically when the mouse reaches the edge of
the display.

Linear Acceleration Drivers

A special high-performance linear acceleration driver is provided for
256-color modes. This driver may require special hardware and may
not be supported on all systems. It is only available for Windows3.1.
