3.2.2 PMM Installation

The PMM supports hot-swap; it is not required to turn off the chassis power before
installing the board.

To install PMM into the PAC-4010 chassis:

1. Align the PCB edge to the card guide rail.

2. Carefully slide the PMM into the system until the connector contacts into the

backplane. Push the orange latch spring to well lock PMM.

To extract PMM from the PAC-4010 chassis:

1. Push the ATTN_BTN, PMM will start deactivation.

2. When the green LED is constantly lit, it is safe to extract the PMM.

3. Pull the orange latch spring to unlatch PMM. (see

Figure 3-9 (A)

)

4. Pull the PMM out of chassis. (see

Figure 3-9 (B)

)

Caution!

1. Only ONE PMM is allowed to be extracted at one time.

2. DO NOT leave the slot empty when extracting the PMM, the alternative

PMM or a dummy module MUST be inserted immediately for safety
purpose.
