Sensors
Advantech’s hardware platform provides hardware monitor ability on board, and it could be
read by software in Linux.
There are 2 approaches to read out value of sensors, Advantech’s proprietary utility APM
(Advantech Platform Monitor) and open source software lm-sensors. See
Section 3.2.1 and
Section 3.2.2
for more details.
Those two both are not applicable for platforms with BMC, but applicable with ipmitool
utility.
3.2.1
APM (Advantech Platform Monitor)
The
APM
(Advantech proprietary Linux utility, SLA required) utility supports to monitor
several critical hardware sensors of system, including power supply voltages, fan speeds,
temperatures and so on. There is a binary available in QuickStart Image for DEMO.
User can type following command to show help message:
# apm -h
Advantech Platform Monitor, version 0.10
Usage: apm -c CONF [-a] [-t] [-v] [-f] [-m] [-i PIN_NUM]
-h, help
-a, show all sensors
-t, show all temperature sensors
-v, show all voltage sensors
-f, show all fan sensors
