7.10 Logging instrument maintenance and
repair
All instrument users can log routine instrument cleaning
from this screen.
Administrators and Service users can also record when
preventative maintenance and instrument repairs are
performed.
All instrument maintenance information is saved to the
events database.
NOTE:
When needed, Administrators can also set the
installation date

tab. Refer to
for instructions.
Logging routine instrument cleaning
1.
Press
DIAGNOSTICS
>
MAINTENANCE
and log in.
2.
Press the
CLEANING
tab.
3.
Select
Cleaned Sample Probe
and/or
Cleaned
Chamber
if those tasks were completed
4.
Press
Save
.
5.
Press
OK
on the
Cleaning completed
dialog box.
6.
Press
Exit
to return to the Diagnostics menu.
Logging preventative maintenance (Administrators
only)
Administrator-level users and Service account users can
record when preventative maintenance is performed
and the service engineer performing the maintenance.
The name of the service engineer is required for all
preventive maintenance events.
Refer to
Maintenance and service
for instrument
maintenance recommendations and instructions.
To record a maintenance event:
1.
Press
DIAGNOSTICS
>
MAINTENANCE
and log in.
2.
Press the
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
tab.
3.
Select the
Advanced Instruments Preventative
Maintenance
checkbox to record the maintenance
event.
4.
Press to enter the name of the
Advanced
Instruments trained service engineer
(required) who
performed the maintenance.
5.
Press
EDIT
to type a
Comment
(required - up to 1024
characters) to enter a full explanation of the
maintenance performed.
6.
Press
Save
.
The instrument saves the maintenance information to
the events database and updates the preventative
maintenance date. The instrument displays prompts
starting 11 months after this date as a reminder that
the next recommended maintenance is due.
NOTE:
To set the installation date (and initial
preventative maintenance date) for a new
instrument, refer to
7.
Press
Exit
to return to the Diagnostics menu.
