6.2 Logging in to a Settings function
When you choose a function from the Settings menu, the
system requires you to log in.
NOTE:
When you exit a Settings function and return to
the Settings menu, the system automatically logs
you out. You must log into each Settings function
at the time you select it from the Settings menu.
To log in to a Settings function:
1.
From the Settings menu, tap the button for the
function you want to open.
A screen prompts you to “select user” from a
drop-down list (Figure 40).

2.
Select the appropriate user from the drop-down list:
•
If your site does not use individual user accounts
or if those accounts have not yet been configured,
select the Admin user. (See “6.4 Default user
accounts” on page 36.)
•
If individual user accounts are defined
, select your
username from the list.
NOTE:
Operator usernames will not appear in the list
if access to that function is restricted to
supervisors only (designated by a “gold key”
icon). For more information, see “Assigning
restrictions” on page 46.
3.
After selecting the user, tap
Enter
.
A keyboard displays.
4.
Use the keyboard to type the password for the
selected user account; then tap
Enter
.
If you entered the correct password, the system
displays the function you selected from the menu.
NOTE:
Each function available from the Settings
menu is described later in this chapter.
6.3 Timing out of a Settings session
While you are logged into a Settings function, the
system monitors for inactivity.
After five minutes of inactivity, the system displays a
message asking if you want to continue. If you do not
respond to the prompt within 30 seconds, your session
times out. The system logs you out, discards unsaved
changes, and returns to the Home screen.
6.4 Default user accounts
The system ships with two default accounts already
configured:
•
Service:
This account is for use only by qualified
service personnel.
•
Admin:
If you plan to set up individual user accounts,
use the Admin account for initial configuration until
you have created the user accounts. (See “Setting up
user accounts” on page 37.) If your facility chooses
not to create individual user accounts, then all
operators will use the Admin account for their
activities.
Default password for Admin account:
password
If desired, you can change the Admin password from its
default value to a different value. To do so, edit the
Admin user as described in “Editing a user” on
page 38 and enter a new password.
6.5 Setting date and time
The current date and time are set at the factory before
the unit ships. During initial setup, you might need to
change the date and time to suit your site.
NOTE:
The Osmo1 displays the date and time under the
“Osmometer Ready” banner. Look there to see if
the timestamp is set correctly for your site.
In addition, you might need to adjust the date and time
in other circumstances (for example, going on/off
daylight savings time, after a power outage, etc.).
To change the date and/or time:
1.
From the Settings menu, tap
Date & Time
.
The system prompts you to log in.
