Step 7
Check and prepare the CFP transceiver as follows:
a) Verify that the CFP transceiver is the correct one for your network
configuration (type, specifications). To quickly obtain the ade-
quate information, refer to the ADVA Optical Networking label on
the board cover of the transceiver module.
b) Inspect the CFP transceiver visually for damage and impurities. If
necessary, use canned, dry, oil-free compressed air to blow off
any impurities. If the CFP transceiver is damaged, do not install it.
c) Make sure that the optical port of the CFP transceiver module is
equipped with a dust cover. If not, install one.

Identify the interface cage (port) on the channel module where the
CFP transceiver will be installed.
Step 9
If installed, remove the dust plug from the corresponding interface
cage of the channel module and store it in a resealable container for
future use.

NOTICE
Risk of electromagnetic disturbances.
Make sure that the EMI gasket flange is not damaged
before inserting the module. Otherwise EMC compliance
cannot be achieved.
