Step 3

If required, install two cage nuts in the corresponding holes on both
sides of the rack.

Step 4

With a person on each side, slide the
ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC Shelf into the rack just below the
FSP 3000R7 shelf.

Step 5

Position the shelf with the attached brackets in the bay so that the
bracket holes on each side are aligned with the rack mounting holes
or the cage nuts.

Step 6

Secure the shelf to the bay by using the four mounting screws as
shown in

. (For this step, you may want a helper to hold the

shelf in place for you.)

Proceed as follows:

a) Insert the top screws on each side first.

b) Then insert the bottom screws on each side.

c) Tighten all rack screws with an appropriate screwdriver.

For installation in a rack, ADVA Optical Networking recommends
having two persons to hold the ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC Shelf
in place while another service person secures it to the rack.

Note

One extra mounting screw is normally shipped with each shelf. If you
have a screw left over at this stage, discard it or store it for future use.
