The Event Log, shown in
Figure 19
, loads and time-
stamps IDSL circuit performance anomalies and
threshold violations. This screen is a very useful aid
in troubleshooting a chronic circuit. It monitors DDS
sync loss, DDS open loop, IDSL OCU-R margin,
IDSL sync loss, and power-up events. IDSL loop
signal-to-noise margin is calculated on a numerical
scale from 0-20 with 0 approximately equal to a BER
of 1 x 10

and 20 equal to virtually a 0 BER.
