In the Config Pane, check Menus , if unchecked, and wait for the status ( Figure 18 ) to
update.

Based on the status display, continue according to the following:

Down
: The SCM might not be running the minimum required firmware revision. The
System Software is listed below the Application checkboxes, in the section of the
Config Pane titled Network Element. See Figure 19 .

Choose the desired emulation software.
The desired terminal emulation software is identified in the telnet_session.bat.file.
The following are the four terminal emulation software programs that are pre-loaded.
• Hyper Terminal
• ProComm Plus
• PuTTY
• Telnet
The following are quick tips when using a terminal emulation.
• Comments are identified by double colons.
• Remove the colons for the desired program.
• Add comments to the undesired program.
If other programs are desired, such as Secure CRT, etc.
• Add comments to the undesired program.
• Add the commandline string appropriate for the desired terminal emulation
program. Details of the command line are specific to the program used and are
outside of the scope of OPTI-APPS.

Click Menu Session to launch the menu session ( Figure 20 ).
