CAUTION!

To reduce the risk of fire, use minimum no. 26 AWG

 telecommunications line cord.

Install the UPS

Installation of the Uninterruptible Power Source (UPS) will be
dictated by on-site conditions and local telephone company
practices. Refer to the installation material that is provided with the
UPS.

g

     NOTE

After the ground wire, fiber jumper, and power leads have been
connected, close the ONT and secure it by tightening the inner
security screw.

Power conductors, POTS, and Ethernet are suitable for
connection to internal wiring or cabling only. Do not metallically
connect these ports to interfaces that connect to external wiring.
Do not connect this port to equipment located in other buildings
or structures.

Installation of this product must comply with the National Electric
Code (NEC). Final acceptance of this Listed equipment
installation will ultimately be up to the local Authority Having
Jurisdiction (AHJ).

This is to be installed by qualified service personnel only.

4. Insert the RJ-11 connectors from the terminal bridges in the

appropriate POTS Port.

Connect Ethernet to the ONT

1. Route the Subscriber Ethernet wires through the same cable

entry as the POTS cables.

2. Install RJ-45 connectors to the Ethernet wires.
3. Insert into the appropriate

ENET 1–4

R

EGISTRATION

 ID

There are two instances where the OLT will register the ONT:

Serial Number Activation (performed by the OLT when the ONT
is “Discovered”)

Registration ID using a lineman’s handset (see below)

Set Registration ID Activation using Lineman’s Handset

To set the Registration ID using a DTMF Keypad on a standard
lineman’s handset, complete the following steps:

g

     NOTE

The ONT does not need to be connected to the OLT during the
Registration ID process.

Only POTS port 1 can be used for Registration ID configuration.

1. Perform an initial power-up on a new ONT.

g

     NOTE

At the start-up of the ONT, a 10-second Registration ID configu-
ration window is provided.

2. Wait for the indication that Registration ID configuration is

available. The

GPON

LED will be flashing green on a 200

millisecond interval when Registration ID configuration is
available.
