copy <source> <destination>
Purpose
Use the copy
<source> <destination> command to copy any file from a specified source to a
specified destination.
Syntax Description
displays the syntax descriptions for the copy <source> <destination> command.
Default Values
The copy command has no default values.
Command Modes
The Enable Mode Command prompt is required for this command.
Usage Examples
Provide various sample copy commands.
TA238#copy running-config startup-config
Copy the current running-configuration to the startup-configuration file located in NVRAM.
TA238#copy startup-config running-config
The current startup-configuration file (located in NVRAM) is copied to the running-
configuration file.
Copy a new application image to flash via X-Modem through the craft port.

source
Specifies the current location of the file. Valid sources include:
• running-config (current running configuration file)
• startup-config (configuration file located in NVRAM)
• xmodem (craft port X-Modem)
destination
Specifies the destination of the copied file. Valid destinations include:
• running-config (current running configuration file)
• startup-config (configuration file located in NVRAM)
• flash (application code image)
