warranty information

There are two things you must do to ensure trouble-free service in the event you need warranty
repairs:
1. Keep your original sales receipt in a safe place.  A copy of the receipt will be required to obtain
warranty service.
2. Be sure your retail dealer has written the date, model number, and serial number (if applicable)
of the Product on the receipt.

To give yourself an extra measure of protection, make a separate record of the information about
your purchase and keep it in a safe place.  In the event you misplace the sales receipt, your dealer
may be able to give you a copy.
Take a moment now to read the terms of your warranty.  Check to be sure your sales receipt is
dated and has the Product model number and serial number (if applicable) on it.  Then put it away
in a safe place.

When shipping a Product in for service:
• Enclose a copy of your original sales receipt that has the date, Product model number and serial
number (if applicable) written on it.
• Always ship Products in the complete original packing material.
• Avoid shipping Products via the Postal Service.  If you must use the Postal Service, be sure to reg-
ister the package.

SETUP

After all connections have been made in the system, the FDi must be programmed to recognize
the signal from the OEM head unit.

1. Turn all level controls on the FDi counterclockwise to their minimum position.
2. Set the source selector switch to the middle position, which selects the OEM head unit as the
source.
3. Turn on the system and set tone controls, balance and fader to their zero or centered posi-
tions.
4. Tune the radio to the fm frequency selected on the FDi.
5. Turn the OEM head unit volume all the way up to maximum volume.
6. On the FDi, select "setup" on the mode switch and push the "set" switch once. After approxi-
mately one second the high and low leds will light up.
7. Turn up the level control for the OEM input you are using until the "high" light changes to
green. You will hear a signal consisting of sine waves at 100Hz, 1kHz and 10kHz simultaneously.
Red indicates the level is too high, and amber indicates the level is too low.

NOTE If the sound level from your system is too loud, turn the amplifier gains down and return
to step 7. Reset the amplifier gains later using music from one of your aux sources.

8. Turn down the volume on the OEM radio until the "low" light changes to green. Red indicates
the level is too high, and amber indicates the level is too low.
9. Push the "store" switch. Both lights should flash.
10. Set the mode switch to "run" and the lights will go out.
11. Push the "set" switch again.

To adjust the input level of the aux source:
1. Listen to music from the OEM head unit.
2. Select the aux source with the source select switch, and tune the radio to the control frequency
set on the FDi.
3. With music playing from the aux source adjust the aux source level control on the FDi to match
the level of the music from the OEM head unit. Play similar music from both sources, and switch
back and forth a few times to compare the levels.

Now verify that the FDi is working properly:
1. With the radio tuned to the control frequency, select an aux source with the source selector
switch.
2. Operate the Volume, Tone, Balance and Fader of the radio while listening to the system.

Make final amplifier level/gain adjustments after setting up the FDi.
