PROPER DRIVING TECHNIQUE
ENGINE START-UP – Using the electric start
Check engine oil and gasoline levels before starting the vehicle.
1. Turn ignition switch to “ON”.
2. Verify emergency stop switch is in “ON” position
2. Squeeze brake lever and press the electric start button until the engine turns on.
3. Allow engine to warm up for a few minutes before use.
CAUTION
1. Release the starter button immediately after engine turns on.
2. Do not press the starter button with the engine running as damage will occur.
If the engine does not start after a few seconds of using the electric start, give the
throttle grip a slight twist and try again.
NOTE:
If the vehicle has been sitting for an extended period, the carburetor may need to
be drained and cleaned. Contact your local dealer to schedule maintenance.
CAUTION
1. Do not run the starter motor for more than 10 seconds each attempt. Allow
20 seconds between starting attempts to allow for the starter to cool down.
2. If the engine does not start normally, contact your local dealer.
