Cabling and Installation

Attach the computer’s disk activity LED cable to connector P6 on the
controller.

Attach an internal SCSI cable to the controller and internal SCSI devices.
Optionally, attach an internal SCSI cable to the SX405xU2 (if installed)
and to additional internal SCSI devices.
One internal Ultra2 SCSI cable is supplied with the SmartRAID V
controller. If you require additional cables, contact DPT Sales or use our
online Webstore at

Plug the controller into an available PCI slot. Using a SmartRAID V 64-bit
controller in a 32-bit PCI will result in reduced performance.

PM3755F & SX4055F: Attach an external Fibre Channel cable between
the controller and the external Fibre Channel enclosure. If you have a
Fibre Channel enclosure with a dual port kit installed and are configuring
a Fibre Channel dual loop, be aware that DPT does not currently support
dual-loop redundancy. Refer to the documentation for your Fibre Channel
enclosure.

Attach an external SCSI cable between the controller and external SCSI
devices. Optionally, attach external SCSI cables between the SX405xU2 (if
installed) and to additional external SCSI devices. Optionally, attach a
Fibre Channel cable between the SX405xF (if installed) and the external
Fibre Channel enclosure.
Multichannel external cabling requires the use of a 68-pin VHDCI offset
cable. This offset cable allows you to connect two or more external cables
without interference between the cable connectors. If you are using Ultra2
SCSI devices, the cable must be an Ultra2-qualified cable.
