Both the
reminder light and
the warning beeper will go on for
about six seconds when the igni
tion switch is turned on if the
driver's belt is not fastened. The
beeper will not go on if the
driver's seat belt is fastened
before the ignition switch is
turned on, but the light will come on for about six seconds each
time, to remind the driver to have the passengers use their seat
belts.
If the light and beeper do not work as described, have your dealer
check the system.
Child Restraint
Children riding in the car should be restrained to minimize the risk
of injury in an accident, sudden stop or sudden maneuver.
Larger children should use one of the seat belts provided. If the
front seat shoulder belt rests against the child's neck or face when
properly secured with the seat back in the upright position, the
child should sit in the rear seat and use the lap belt.
For smaller children, w e strongly recommend the use of a commer
cially available child restraints system that meets the Federal
Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (F M V S S ) because it offers the
most protection against injury. All states now have laws, which re
quire small children must be seated in a child passenger seat
restraint system. Check local laws.
Before buying a particular child restraint system, make sure it fits
your car seat and seat belts, and fits your child. Follow all the in
structions that come with the system. American Honda Motor Co.,
Inc. distributes through the Acura Automobile Division, both infant
and child safety seats that meet the F M V S S and are designed to fit
properly in your Acura car.
If you lose the instructions that came with your safety seat, you
can get another copy from your local Acura dealer.

^WARNING
• Children should never ride unrestrained in an automobile.
• Never use an infant carrier or child safety seat that "hooks"
over a seatback; it may not provide adequate security in an
accident.
• Never allow a child to be held in a person's arms while they are
in a moving vehicle. Holding a child in a moving vehicle does not
provide the child with any means of protection during an acci
dent, even if the person holding the child is wearing a seat belt.
