1U Rackmount System
1. After removing the plastic cap, use your thumb
and the index finger to hold the CPU at the north
and south center edges.
2. Align the CPU key (the semi-circle cutout) with
the socket key (the notch below the gold color dot
on the side of the socket).
3. Once the CPU and the socket are aligned,
carefully lower the CPU straight down into the
socket.
Do not rub the CPU against the surface of the
socket or its pins to avoid damaging the CPU or
the socket.
4. With the CPU in the socket, in- spect the four
corners of the CPU to make sure that it sits level
and is properly installed.
5. Once the CPU is securely seated in the socket,
lower the CPU load plate to the socket.
6. Use your thumb to gently push the socket clip
down to the clip lock.
Important!
Please save the plastic cap. The
motherboard must be shipped with the plastic cap
properly installed to protect the CPU socket pins.
Shipment without the plastic cap properly installed
may cause damage to the socket pins.
