If an item is missing, please contact your distributor.
STEP 1 : Get started
Unpack the modules and accessories (cables, antennas, power supplies). Check that all
needed parts are available. You can begin installation.
STEP 2 : Installing
Plug an antenna, an Ethernet cable and a power supply in each module.
Attach the Ethernet cables to the devices you wish to link through the Ethernet AIR-PACK
modules.
Plug the power supplies in a wall outlet.
STEP 3 : Using
Once the blue and red LEDs stop blinking alternately, the two Ethernet AIR-PACK
modules are interconnected and are ready to use.
Your Ethernet devices can now communicate normally, there is no need to change the
network configuration.
THE DISPLAY LEDS
Both modules show their state using five LEDs.
Power
: Green LED
-
This LED turns on when power supply is correctly applied to the module.
10/100 Base Tx
: Green LED
-
This LED turns on when a 100Base TX Ethernet link is used.
Link (Lan) Tx/Rx
: Green LED
-
This LED turns on when the Ethernet link is established, and blinks when
transferring data to and from the Ethernet network.
Diag
: Red LED
-
This LED turns on for less than 10 seconds after powering up, until the module has
initialized; then it turns off.
If the LED stays alight for more than 10 seconds after powering up, it means that the
module is malfunctioning. Try to power down and power up again.
WLan Tx/Rx
: Blue LED
-
This LED blinks when transferring data to and from the Wi-Fi network.
Diag + Wlan Tx/Rx:
-
When these two LEDs blink alternately, the two modules cannot connect to each
other. Change the orientation of the antennas or move the modules to another
place.
MODULE RESET
Each module is equipped with a two-functions
pushbutton
near the Ethernet connector:
-
With a quick push (< 1 second) the button resets the module.
-
With a long push (> 2 seconds) the button resets the factory default settings of the
module.
OPTIONAL CONFIGURATION
The AIR-PACK modules are preconfigured and do not need any configuration to be used.
However, if you wish, you can change some configuration settings. These changes must
be made after careful planning. Uncontrolled changes may disrupt correct functioning of
the Ethernet AIR-PACK.
WARNING
: In their default configuration, all AIR-PACK modules have the same IP
address (192.168.1.253), used only for administration. Hence, in order to access one
module’s administration menus, you must connect the module directly to your computer
through their Ethernet plugs, and you must power down the other module during
configuration. The network configuration of your computer must be compatible with the
default module IP address and with the network mask 255.255.255.0. Call your network
administrator to reconfigure your computer if needed.
Connecting to the administration WEB pages :
The AIR-PACK modules have an embedded WEB server. To access it, start
your web browser and type the following URL:
. There is no password
for user “admin” in the default settings.
Network configuration changes:
If you wish to change the module IP address or to activate the DHCP client,
connect to the administration, and go to the BASIC
LAN menu.
Wi-Fi configuration changes:
In the Wi-Fi configuration page you can only change the allowed
transmission speeds, and (for the module set to ACCESS POINT mode) the radio channel
(the module set to BRIDGE mode automatically selects the access point’s own channel).
Once connected to the administration, go to the BASIC
WIRELESS menu.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1.
Check the Ethernet AIR-PACK configuration
In order to check the Ethernet AIR-PACK configuration, move the two modules so that
they are close to each other. Power up both modules and wait for the blue and red LEDs
stop blinking alternately. If the alternate blink does not stop after one minute, the products
are not properly configured. Reset both modules to factory settings and retry.
