Remove the motor cover.

Release the brake pad by pushing the shaft down and removing the washer and plates (see Figure 7.5.2).

Inspect all parts. Braking surfaces should be clean, free of grease/oil and should not be glazed. Measure
brake gap (see Figure 7.4.7) and brake lining (see Figure 7.5.3) and compare the measurement with the
values listed in Table 6.7.1. Replace the brake pad assembly if the measurement is smaller than the replace
limit.

After the bake is properly adjusted and inspected, carefully replace the motor brake unit back into the hoist.
Reassemble the parts in reverse order of removal.
