1. Firstly, before doing anything, you will need the following to hand,
•
Sellotape or some other form of tape
•
Scissors
•
Medium philips screwdriver
•
Small blade screwdriver
•
Blunt knife
•
Marker pen (fibre/felt tip)
•
Clear, padded work surface. I used kitchen table with a travel rug beneath the
table cloth. This is to avoid damage to the fascia and LCD components.
2. Step 1 – place the monitor face down on the work surface, remove the monitor stand by
using the small bladed screw driver to remove the two plastic screw covers. You should use
little to no force. Behind each cover are 2 x philips screws, remove both. The stand should no
come free. I placed the screws back into the screw holes of the stand, and taped the screw
covers behind them to hold the various pieces in place.
3. Step 2 – remove philips screw at centre bottom rear. Tape this to monitor stand foot.
4. Step 3 – Turn monitor over and starting at the bottom centre gently push rear of fascia case
in and insert a blunt knife blade. Gently work along base, then one side followed by the
other. Take your time and AVOID the controls in the LCD monitor base. There are catches
along the bottom and sides. These need to be gently released. When you've opened the sides
and bottom, gently rotate the fascia up from the bottom, using the top as a hinge. At around
15 – 20 degrees, you should be able to release the top catches too.
