Intel LANDesk
Client Manager
As computer systems are becoming more complex, system manageability is becoming one of the important
requirements for desktop, server, and notebook computers, especially in networked environments. The Desktop
Management Interface (DMI) standard, created by the Desktop Management Task Force (DMTF), provides an
industry standard based solution, enabling any DMI-compliant management software to manage any DMI-enabled
computer systems.
AcerPower desktop computers have been made DMI 2.0 compliant, by providing DMI 2.0 Service Provider, and
DMI-compliant component instrumentation. The manageable system information within the AcerPower system
can be accessed through any DMI-compliant management software.
Your AcerPower desktop computer has also been bundled with Intel LANDesk Client Manager, which is a DMI-
compliant management software.
The LANDesk Client Manager, Client Version, can be used by the AcerPower users, to do the following tasks:
•
Review system inventory.
•
View DMI-compliant component information.
•
Receive notifications of system events.
•
Troubleshoot some of the computer problems.
The LANDesk Client Manager, Administrator Version, can be used by a system administrator to manage client
workstations remotely. Besides to remotely perform those system management tasks listed above, the system
administrator can also:
•
Back up and restore the system configuration files.
•
Make remote troubleshooting easier.
•
Transfer files to and from client workstations.
•
Remotely reboot client workstations.
•
Remotely power up client systems.
