17 Handling of Mobile Terminal and Docking Station
17.1 Mobile Terminal
17.1.1 Switching on
To switch the mobile terminal on, use the following button:
“On/Off” button (hold for two seconds).
The Status LED lights up green as soon as the mobile terminal is switched on. The home screen of the
operating system or the normal working environment appears on the display.
17.1.2 Switching off
To switch the mobile terminal off, use the following button:
“On/Off” button (hold for three seconds).
Then the "Switch Off" dialog appears on the display. This button must be confirmed to switch the device off.
To cancel this dialog, click somewhere on the display next to it. This will cause the dialog to close.
The Status LED goes out as soon as the mobile terminal is switched off.
17.1.3 Idle mode
To switch the mobile terminal into idle mode, use the following button:
“On/Off” button (hold for two seconds).
In idle mode, (system) processes minimize their power consumption in order to save energy. The display is
also switched off. Therefore, the mobile terminal requires only a little power and the rechargeable battery
time can be extended.
17.1.4 Emergency power supply
After the mobile terminal has been switched on for at least 30 minutes, the emergency power supply can be
used.
Due to the emergency power supply, the mobile terminal is also supplied with power for up to ten seconds so
that it is possible to change the rechargeable battery when the application is running.
The removal of the rechargeable battery is detected and a message is sent to the operating system. This
message can be used by the applications to save important data.
In the process, the display is darkened. After the rechargeable battery has been put back in, the display
becomes active again.
