CLEANING & STORAGE
1. Always ensure that the base unit is turned off, unplugged from the
wall outlet, and that the kettle has cooled sufficiently to touch prior to
any cleaning or storage. Wipe down the exterior of the kettle with a
moist cloth.
2. When storing, stow the cord beneath the base unit and make sure
that the lid is closed and that the kettle is correctly attached to the
base. Do not place anything on top of the kettle during storage.
3. Periodically it may be necessary to remove mineral deposits that
build up. These deposits are associated with the mineral content of
tap water and therefore how often you will need to “descale” your
kettle will depend on the level of calcium in your water supply. This
calcium build up may look like a discoloration on the inside of the
kettle.
4. To remove mineral deposits you can purchase kettle descaler
products from most supermarkets or hardware stores and follow the
directions on the packaging.
HOME DECALCIFYING
To home decalcify, open the kettle lid and fill with 3 cups of white vinegar
and add water to the maximum level. Bring to boil. Once the solution is
boiling turn off the kettle and unplug base. Let it sit for 20 minutes and
then pour out. Rinse the kettle. You may need to rinse the kettle several
times so there is no trace of vinegar in the kettle.
Remove the solution the following day, refill with fresh water and bring to
a boil. Then discard the water. Repeat as necessary to remove any build
up.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
POSITIONING THE KETTLE
1. Ensure that the kettle base is positioned on a safe, level, and stable
work area.
2. Remove as much of the power cord from the underside of the power
base (cable storage area) as necessary to connect to a wall outlet.
3. Ensure that the power cable does not extend over the work area.
