In Backup Mode, the alarm beeps once every 7 seconds. The user can mute the alarm
by short pressing the power button. If the battery capacity is very low, the alarm will
beep every 1 second and can’t be muted. It’s a warning to save your work and safely
shut down your devices.
6.3. The UPS Operation
6.3.1. Turn on the UPS
Turning on with utility power
After connecting the UPS to the utility power outlet, it will automatically turn on in
standby mode and perform a self-test. It is indicated by the dim light on the LCD and
the UPS OFF notification. Press and hold the power button until you hear the beep.
The UPS will turn on as indicated by the bright light on the LCD. Now the UPS begins
to provide an output power supply and operate in Normal Mode. If the utility power is
abnormal the UPS will switch to working in Backup Mode.
Turning on without utility power
With no utility power supply to feed the UPS, press and hold the power button until you
hear the beep. In the turn-on process, the UPS has the same operation as if it were
connected to the utility power, but the input voltage icon will not appear. Instead, the
battery icon is shown, notifying that the power now comes from the battery, and the
alarm beeps every 7 seconds. You can turn off the alarm by short pressing the power
button. When the battery is critically low, the alarm will beep every second and it is not
possible to mute it.
6.3.2. Turn off the UPS
Turn off the UPS in Normal Mode
To turn off the UPS in Normal Mode, press and hold the power button until you
hear the beep. The device will shut down but continue to charge the battery if it is
connected to the utility power outlet.
Turn off the UPS in Backup Mode
To turn off the UPS in Backup Mode, press and hold the power button until you hear
the beep. The UPS will shut down completely and the battery won’t be charged.
