Tighten the screws of the connector, using the spanner
.
Failing to follow the instructions (1) to (7) in the specified order
may lead to permanent damage of the ABI-EV20000S00 and ABI-
EV2008S00 amplifiers
When it is impossible to connect the DIN rails ,frame or CATV
transition point to ground, make sure they are at least at the same
electrical level (connected to each other).
Please also note our recommendation regarding overvoltage
protection at the end of this manual

Turn on the power
10. The indicator on the front of the module should light up green.
At start up and after that every other minute, the indicator will
blink. When the input level is satisfactory, the indicator will
blink at least 5 times.
If the indicator is red, there is no input signal.
If the indicator is yellow, the input signal is too low to
guarantee proper operation when using the maximum cable
length of the Smart Media network (35m). In this case extra
measurements of the input signal are required.
11. Close the ‘Comm Center Cabinet’.
12. Locate the Outlet near your TV-set or decoder you want to
connect
13. In case the distance to the ‘comm center cabinet’ for the
selected Outlet is shorter than 15m, we recommend the use
of an adjustable adapter (BALUN) (i.e. ABI-AC1001S00). For
distances longer than 15m, a fixed adapter can be used (i.e.
ABI-AC1002S00).
For the ABI-AC1001S00, set the level to maximum by means
of the power level adjustment screw located on the balun
(Turn the screw gently clockwise until it blocks).
14. Insert one end of a coax patch cord (ABI-PC1006Sxx) into the
Balun (ABI-AC1001S00 or ABI-AC1002S00).
15. Insert the other end of the Coax patch cord into the TV–set or
STB.
16. In the ‘Comm Center Cabinet’, locate the Comm Center
Connector that corresponds to the outlet where you just
inserted the Patch cord and insert one end of a ‘Comm Center’
Patch cord’ of a suitable length into this connector.
17. Insert the other end of the Patch cord in one of the numbered
ports (TV1–TV4) on the front of the Amplifier.
18. Check the signal quality on the TV set; and adjust the level by
means of the level adjustment screw on the Balun if
necessary. Normally this is only required for short links
between the Comm center Cabinet and the outlet.
IMPORTANT REMARK:
Insert a RJ45 Termination Plug in every unused port of the
amplifier.
If all four ports are connected to outlets, but not all outlets
have a device (TV/HDR/…) connected to it, it is strongly
recommended to insert a Termination Plug into the latter
(unused) outlets.
For the ABI-EV2008S00, terminate all unused F-connectors by
means of the (supplied) F-terminators
A variable gain balun (RJ45/coax adapter) can be used instead
of a Termination Plug by setting it to the minimum level
position (gently turn the seting screw counterclockwise till it
locks).

Recommendation regarding overvoltage protection
It is recommended to add an overvoltage protection to the incoming
signals. This protects the system against overvoltages caused by
power surges, lightning, etc.
A different type of protector is required for every type of signal
(Antenna/Cable TV (5) , Telephone (6) , Mains Power (7))
