Status Messages
The diagnostic facilities incorporated in the software displays the appropriate system status message (see Table 9.1) in the
Operating
Page
(see Section 2.3) if a fault is detected.
9.2
Unstable or Erratic Readings
This is usually caused by air bubbles in the sample and is more
pronounced on the low level sensor due to its greater sensitivity.
These bubbles are usually as a result of degassing of the sample
caused by either a drop in sample pressure or a rise in sample
temperature. Cleaning the optical windows and increasing the
flow through the flowcell usually overcomes the problem but if it
is severe, install a de-bubbler unit – see Section 6.4.
If erroneous or unexpected results are obtained the fault may be
indicated by an error message – see Table 9.1. However, some
faults may cause problems with monitor calibration or give
discrepancies when compared with independent laboratory
measurements.
