• Avoid mounting directly onto the motor if a mounting plate is not provided
on the motor. Obey the instructions from motor manufacturer for mounting
directly onto the motor.
Example DAU installations
The examples below show different ways of mounting the DAU:
• Mounting on the motor with mounting plate
• Mounting on rails
• Mounting directly on the motor
￭ Mounting on the motor with mounting plate
The DAU can be mounted on the motor with the mounting plate, by drilling and
tapping holes, as shown in below figure. For technical details of motor, see the
motor specifications or contact the motor manufacturer.
Consider the below instructions when mounting on the motor:
• Mount the DAU on the same side as the auxiliary terminal box to reduce the
cable length for temperature sensors (RTD and BTD).
• Mount the DAU on an external frame if the asset is expected to have high
vibrations, or if the surface temperature is above 60 °C.
