Installing the DAU

This chapter gives instructions for installing the Data acquisition unit (DAU).
Mounting the DAU
The MACHsense-R DAU can be mounted onto the motor or on the neighboring
wall or steel structure. You can use a drilling machine to drill the mounting holes
and fix the DAU using suitable bolts. For dimension drawing, see
Dimensions of
DAU (page 72) .
Consider the following precautions when mounting the DAU:
• Select a mounting location which is a non-hazardous area and free of shock
forces and excessive dust, avoiding proximity to electrical appliances, etc.
• Make sure the selected mounting location and subsequent mounting of the
DAU allows trouble-free cabling.
• Mount the DAU where it is easily accessible for the service personnel to connect
a laptop into the LAN connector inside the DAU.
• Provide sufficient space for the connectors.
• Make sure the mounting bolts are fastened correctly to prevent any sudden
unfastening due to external forces.
• Make sure the cables are laid correctly. Use cable ties and fasteners to secure
the cables.
