8.5 Climbing stairs - Upwards

NOTE - It is mandatory to observe the safety instructions in chapter 8!
Adjust neutral position.
» The climbing leg must be
completely retracted.
Tilt the s-max sella and keep
it balanced.
Approach the step backwards
until wheels are in contact.
Walk 2 to 3 steps up. Press the UP/DOWN switch
in the UP direction.
» If the single-step mode has
been activated, keep UP/
DOWN switch pressed until
s-max sella stops by itself
The s-max sella climbs up.
Repeat procedure starting
with fi gure 3.
Climbing stairs upwards - spiral stairs
When moving on spiral stairs, the same steps as just described
in this chapter must be carried out.
Please note: For spiral stairs, the s-max sella must be aligned
according to the spiral of the stairs. Both wheels must come
back into contact with the edge of the stairs during each climb-
ing procedure.
Manufacturer’s recommendation: Single-step mode activated.

of the spiral stairs with chap-
ter 4.8 Technical data!
The s-max sella must not be
used on unsuitable stairs, as
this could cause it to slip off
the stairs!
