Dust extraction
WARNING.
Always ensure
that the tool is switched
off and the plug is removed
from the power point before
making any adjustments or
maintenance procedures.
1. Attach the dust canister (4)
to the dust extraction port
of the sander by depressing
the side clips.
WARNING.
For optimum dust
extraction, remove and empty
the canister (4) when it is no
more than half full.
2. Remove the canister by
depressing the side clips
and gently easing the
canister off. To empty the
dust canister gently tap the
canister upside down over a
bin.
If the canister needs a good
clean, there are two screws
that hold the dust bag in the
canister. Unscrew the two
screws and remove the bag.
and give a good clean.
Locate the bag back in the canister and replace the
screws.
3. The dust extraction adaptor
piece (5) can be fitted into the
dust extraction port in place of
the dust canister (4).
4. The sander can then be
connected to a household
vacuum cleaner or
workshop dust extraction
system.
The Detail sander has a rotating platen.
1. Switch off and unplug the
unit.
2. Whilst holding the hand grip
(2) and the platen (3) rotate
to the desired position.
CAUTION.
Where possible,
clamp smaller workpieces to
the bench.
Note.
If there are still scratches
on your work after sanding, try
either of the following:
1. Go back to a coarser grit and
sand the marks out before
recommencing with the
original choice or,
2. Try using new sandpaper
of the same grit to eliminate
the unwanted marks before
progressing to a finer grit
and finishing the job.
