Appendix

Mouse Unit Function

Connection

The mouse type and cable type are determined by the type of computer used. Use the table shown below to
select the appropriate cable or refer to your computer’s user manual.

Remote Control Mouse Function

For PS/2, ADB (Mac), Serial

1. Turn off the personal computer power switch and then use

the cable supplied to connect the computer and mouse unit.

Note: The cable used depends on the personal computer type. Refer to the instruction manual

of the personal computer to determine the most appropriate mouse type before making
the above selection.

2. Turn on the personal computer and then use the mouse function of the remote control. If there is any

problem, check the cable connections and then reboot the computer.

3. Refer to the instruction manual of the remote control for instructions concerning mouse operation.

Caution

• Before connecting, read the manual(s) of the equipment being connected.
• Turn off the computer power supplies before connection. Connecting

any cable (other than USB) with the computer power on can cause a
malfunction. Use only the mouse cables provided.

• In the case of laptop computers with a built-in pointing device (such as a

trackball), the device will sometimes have priority even if a mouse is
connected. In such a case, disable the built-in device and change the BIOS
setting (system setup) so that an external mouse can be selected. Restart the
computer after changing the BIOS setting. Refer to the computer manual
for more information on this setting.

• Some computers may not have the utility program to operate a mouse.
