EX II Serial Controllers Reference Guide

3M Touch Systems Proprietary Information

•

A method of establishing the serial data communication between the controller and
your system. The standard 3M Touch Systems RS-232 serial cable (P/N 7310101) is
recommended.

•

A method of supplying power to the controller -- either internal or external.

•

A touch screen driver with a calibration routine.

Note:

You can use either TouchWare or MT 7 software, which include the touch

screen device driver and utilities software as the software interface.

EX II 17xxSC Dimensions

The EX II 17xxSC cased version measures 2.5 x 3.75 inches with a total height of
approximately 1 inch when the touch screen cable is attached. The cased version comes
with a standard serial cable.

The EX II 17xxSC uncased version measures 2.25 x 3.6 inches with a total height profile
of 0.5 inches from the thru hole pins on the trace side of the board to the top of the
highest component on the opposite side. The EX II 17xxSC has a NOVRAM touch
screen connector and a serial cable connector.

Figure 1. EX II 17xxSC Overall Dimensions

EX II 7720SC Dimensions

The EX II 7720SC controller measures 1.3 x 2.6 inches with a total height profile of 0.38
inches from the thru hole pins on the trace side of the board to the top of the highest
component on the opposite side. The EX II 7720SC has a 5-pin touch screen connector
and a serial cable connector.
