Cable Termination -
When splicing with 3M
™
MS
2™
modules:
a.
Attach the 3M
™
4045K splice rig to the bottom panel on
left hand side of the terminal. To prevent damage to the
painted surfaces, use shipping carton material between the
clamp and the terminal.
b.
The base of the module and an adapter are included with
the terminal.
c.
Using tie wraps, secure the cable groups to the slotted
bracket on the left hand side of the splice chamber while
maximizing slack and maintaining good housekeeping.
d.
Splice the cable groups to the corresponding pre-
connectorized stubs in the terminal per company practice.

Cable Termination -
When splicing with 3M
™
710 connectors.
a.
Attach the Tool Mounting Kit and Uni-presser to the
bottom panel on left hand side of the terminal. To prevent
damage to the painted surfaces, use shipping carton
material between the clamp and the terminal.
b.
The other component(s) of the connector is included with
the terminal.
c.
Using tie wraps, secure the cable groups to the slotted
bracket on the left hand side of the splice chamber while
maximizing slack and maintaining good housekeeping.
d.
Splice the cable groups to the corresponding pre-
connectorized stubs in the terminal per company practice.

Cable Termination -
When splicing with discrete connectors such as 3M
™
Scotchlok
™
connectors:
a.
Using tie wraps, secure the cable groups to the slotted bracket on the left
hand side of the splice chamber while maximizing slack and maintaining
good housekeeping.
b.
Match the cable groups to the corresponding pre-connectorized stubs in
the terminal. Cut out one pair at a time, from the connectorized side and
splice them according to company practice.
7.18
Once all splicing is completed, bundle the connected groups together
and secure with tie wraps to the slotted bracket on the left hand side of
the splice chamber.
7.19
Close the inner panel and secure.
7.20
Install the terminal door by aligning it with the drop pin hinges and
lowering it into place.
